Hi I am Evon and this is my FYP blog!
This is a study on a series of alternative and sustainable lifestyle choices that, we, as urban dwellers can take on a daily basis. Touching on the the politics and philosophy behind the DIY culture, the project hopes to encourage mindfulness and taking responsibility in the way we live. It aims to promote the DIY lifestyle as a way toward cultivating a climate of self-reliance and creativity, such that our city can become greener, more vibrant and awesome!

Craft Activism is more than just a collection of how-tos. The 17 projects in this book have the added dimension of being connected to a cause: Pass along a worthy message with the Easy-Piecey Peace Quilt; recycle plastic bags to make a skirt; update your grandmother’s crafts with a feminist - and modern - touch; knit a politically charged “sharrow” cardigan (bikers have rights too!). The book is a fun read, with interviews and profiles of smart-minded crafters interspersed between projects.
